Description

This classic no-bake dessert features layers of graham crackers and creamy vanilla pudding topped with a smooth chocolate glaze. It is the perfect make-ahead treat that transforms simple pantry staples into a luscious, cake-like delight after chilling overnight.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 box (14.4 oz) graham crackers
  • 1 container (16 oz) chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the two packages of instant vanilla pudding mix and the cold milk until smooth and thickened.
  2. Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture using a spatula, keeping the mixture light and fluffy.
  3. Line the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan with a single layer of graham crackers, breaking them as necessary to fit.
  4. Spread half of the pudding mixture evenly over the graham cracker base.
  5. Add a second layer of graham crackers over the pudding, then spread the remaining pudding mixture on top.
  6. Place a third and final layer of graham crackers over the top of the pudding.
  7. Heat the chocolate frosting in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds until it reaches a pourable consistency.
  8. Pour the frosting over the top cracker layer, spread it gently, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Notes

For the best texture, do not skip the overnight chilling period; this allows the graham crackers to absorb moisture and become tender like real cake layers. When spreading the warmed frosting, work quickly and gently to avoid lifting the top layer of crackers.
