Description
Create a festive and fun dessert with this creamy no-bake Easter Dirt Cake, featuring layers of crushed chocolate cookies and a velvety pudding filling. It is the perfect centerpiece for spring gatherings, easily topped with adorable candy eggs and Peeps bunnies.
Ingredients
- 1 package Oreo cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 12 oz whipped topping
- 2 packages (3.4 oz each) white chocolate or vanilla instant pudding mix
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Easter candy (Peeps bunnies, edible grass, candy eggs)
Instructions
- Crush about two-thirds of the Oreo cookies and spread them evenly across the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, then stir in the powdered sugar and gently fold in the whipped topping.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and vanilla extract until thickened, then fold this mixture into the cream cheese base.
- Pour the creamy mixture over the cookie base, spread to the edges, and sprinkle with the remaining crushed Oreos.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set, then decorate with Peeps, candy eggs, and edible grass just before serving.
Notes
To ensure a perfectly smooth filling, make sure the cream cheese and butter are completely at room temperature before mixing. If you prefer a more stable cake, let it chill overnight; however, always wait until the last minute to add the candy decorations to keep them from absorbing moisture and losing their texture.
